  All Day Summer Music Festival At The Park   August 18th will mark the first annual “Summer Music Festival at the Park” in the little town of Friendsville, Maryland. In the summer, music is best enjoyed in a beautiful outdoor setting with your friends and family. This is the inspiration for our 2012 Summer Music Festival in the Park. The event sponsored by the Friendsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and is free to the public. Beginning at 5:00 PM with an assortment of great food prepared by Fire Department grillers and fryers the evening will bring a smile to each and every participant. Menu items will include famous fries, funnel cakes, return of the “Big Burger” and wings.

  10:00AM 12:00PM Free Drop-In Workshop   August 18, 10AM-Noon The Tri-State Community School for the Arts, located 115 Baltimore Street in Downtown Cumberland (in the mezzanine above Hobby’s Plus), hosts the FREE drop-in workshop “Make Your Own Story” for children of all ages. Story prompts, pencils, crayons, collage materials and other things to make a storybook will be on-hand for children to create their own story. No registration is necessary, simply drop-in and create!

  6:00PM 8:00PM Gospel Music/Back To School Corn Roast   Gospel Music/Back To School Corn Roast LaVale Baptist Church, National Hwy. For either a canned good or a dollar(to be donated to the LaVale Food Pantry) area kids can receive backpacks with school supplies on a first come basis. The Itzel Family will be in concert. Cost is free and a love offering will be taken for the Itzel Family. Outdoors bring chairs or blanket.
