Trisha Yearwood was at the Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Tuesday night for the launch of her new exhibit, The Song Remembers When. Items on display include trophies from the Recording Academy, the ACM and the CMA. The exhibition also includes a commemorative Trisha Barbie doll from Variety’s Power of Women luncheon. Mattel made dolls honoring six lady “Sheroes” for the event.Trisha Yearwood said she requested a thin Shero.  “They made a Barbie for us in our likeness, and they asked us, ‘What do you want your Barbie to be wearing?’ And I’m like, ‘Well, first of all, I want my Barbie to be skinny.’ And which, duh, of course she is.”  Trisha has big plans for her Barbie doll after the exhibit closes in December. At home, there’s a prototype of a Garth Brooks action figure waiting to play “Two of a Kind Workin’ on a Full House.”  Trisha Yearwood says her Barbie is totally going to date the Garth Brooks action figure.  “There’s a company that’s trying to do a Garth Brooks action figure. He says, ‘It’s not a doll. It’s an action figure.’ And so they brought a prototype for him to see and I don’t think Garth is going to do it. But the prototype really looks like Garth and I think it’s awesome. So, they’re totally going to date when I get the Barbie out of the case. They’re totally going to date! So far, I’ve just been posing him in really inappropriate photos and taking pictures (laughs).”  The Song Remembers When opens tomorrow and runs through New Year’s Eve.

Chances are Tyler Hubbard will be a married man when Florida Georgia Line resumes the Anything Goes tour on July 9th in Ohio. FGL are in the middle of a two-week break, and it’s prime time for Tyler and fiancée Hayley Stommel to tie the knot in Hayley’s hometown of Sun Valley, Idaho.

The ceremony even has a hashtag! Sending his bride Brittany Cole a Twitter shot of wildflowers, Brian Kelley posted, “Insta flowers long distance style … @bcole429 can't wait to see you at the #hubbahubbaweddin!”

Tyler has been off the social media grid since last week. His last update was a friendly plug supporting the release of Canaan Smith’s debut album, Bronco.

It’s the one music argument Dierks Bentley has with his four-year-old daughter, Jordan. In the violin-versus-fiddle debate, the two are not on the same page.  Dierks Bentley says he’s failing at getting his daughter Jordan to call her instrument a fiddle.  “Watching my six-year-old play the piano and my four-year-old plays the fiddle. She calls it the violin. I keep telling her, ‘It’s the fiddle.’ She’s like, ‘It’s the violin!’ ‘It’s the fiddle!’ And my son Knox, he’s on the harmonica. It’s just great to see them around music, and certainly going forward, we’re fortunate where they can be in a school where they can play music.”  Dierks was among the LP Field headliners at the CMA Music Festival. Proceeds from the four-day event will support music education. Little Big Town host the concert special on August 4th on ABC.

Canaan Smith loved the sweet rides in the “Love You Like That” music video so much, he made an offer on the Trans Am right on the set.  Canaan Smith said his wife Christy didn’t get to keep the bug in the “Love You Like That” music video either.  “She did not get to keep the bug, and I didn’t get to keep the Trans Am either. But those were great cars. I tried to buy the Trans Am on the spot. Actually, I tried to buy it from the guy. And he said, ‘That was the only one in his fleet. And he supplies cars for music videos and stuff like that. So, he couldn’t let it go.”

“Love You Like That” is the lead single from Canaan’s debut album, Bronco, which is available now.

Carrie Underwood’s beloved pups Ace and Penny are on the fence about baby Isaiah. The pooch Carrie thought would be stoked over baby boy Fisher just ignores him. The other is being super sweet and cuddly to their new human brother.  Carrie Underwood says Ace and Penny will love Isaiah as soon as he’s able to have solid foods.  “Once we all get the swing of things I feel like it’s getting back to normal for them. And they’ll love him when he starts dropping food and things like that. They’re going to be best friends.”  In a new interview with the Tennessean, the country diva admits her focus has shifted since becoming a new mom. She says, “My focus will always be somewhat shifted now. This isn't a real world. This is a fantasy land. The real world is crying on the bus right now. I don't know what this is, but it's good, whatever it is.”

If the Rascal Flatts kids had their way, the national anthem would be “Let It Go.” Seriously! The band sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. And Jay’s son Dylan was super disappointed they didn’t do the Disney sensation.  Rascal Flatts joke the kids think every song should be Disney.  Gary LeVox: “Before that we were doing a Disney project. We did sing ‘Let It Go,’ so it was funny because Jay got the phone call from his kids and they were mad at him because they had no idea why he sang that song and not ‘Let It Go’ at the basketball game. They got so mad.”  Jay DeMarcus: “’I don’t know what that song is Da-da but it was not ‘Let It Go.’”  Gary: “It was awesome!”  Rascal Flatts are in Columbus, Ohio this weekend for the Buckeye Country Superfest. They open for The Rolling Stones on July Fourth in Indianapolis.

Darius Rucker’s son Jack has a super cool summer job! He’s out on the Southern Style tour with Dad and getting paid for his time assisting Darius’s team on the road.  Darius Rucker says Jack is the official assistant of the Southern Style tour.  “Jack’s with me every weekend. I mean, that’s his summer camp. He’s on payroll now. He’s got a job. He’s working out on the road. So he goes to everybody, he goes, ‘What do you need me to do today?’ And they write down his hours and he gets paid for them.”  The Southern Style tour continues Thursday in Cedar Park, Texas with A Thousand Horses, Brett Eldredge and Brothers Osborne.

The Average White Band’s “Pick Up the Pieces” might be Thompson Square’s official song of the summer. Keifer and Shawna Thompson are in the middle of a major home improvement project after an upstairs toilet flooded their home in Lower Alabama.    Thompson Square’s Shawna Thompson says the fix has been a major headache.  “We had a toilet upstairs that gushed water for like six days and if my mom hadn’t gone over to let some people in to do some work, it probably would have gushed for like a month. It will probably be six to eight months before we’re back in there. But we bought it a couple years ago. And there were some things about it that weren’t quite happy with so we can fix them.”  T2’s new single, “Trans Am,” is available now.

While mom Carrie Underwood and dad Mike Fisher were rocking out at the CMT Music Awards, Isaiah wasn’t too far away.  Before the CMT Music Awards, Carrie Underwood said baby Isaiah is always in tow.  “He has to kind of come with me wherever I go due to feeding things (laughs). So, he’ll probably be out on the bus hanging out. He’s a pretty laidback baby, which I’m really thankful for.”

Carrie took home her sixth Video of the Year award for “Something in the Water” at Wednesday’s show.

Kimberly from Little Big Town says her cookbook started years ago being raised by a mom who cooked for friends and neighbors. If there was a death in the family, or if someone had a baby or lost a job, her mom was at their door with pie or a casserole. Kimberly always went along and says, “you can often communicate better with a pie then with words.”

Carrie Underwood’s band rehearsals may have sounded great, but baby Isaiah and dad Mike Fisher were caught on Instagram catching some shuteye together while the star went through her paces. Carrie captioned, “Isaiah’s first band rehearsal … as you can see he and his daddy were totally into it! #naptime #earmuffs #sweetdreams.”

Carrie is the frontrunner for Wednesday’s CMT Music Awards with five nominations. She’s won Video of the Year five times since 2002.

Brett Eldredge is on the market for a new pad! At the recent number-one party for "Mean to Me" in Nashville, the singer revealed that his parents Robin and Chris are helping him hunt for a new place while he's on the road with Darius Rucker this summer.  Brett Eldredge says Nashville is a happenin’ place to call home.

“I’m still looking all the time. My mom and dad are my realtors so we’re looking every day. I’m taking my time. I’m not in too much of a hurry. So, and Nashville is a happenin’ place to live right now. So, I think it will happen before too long. So…”

Brett will be part of at least three sold-out CMA Music Fest events next week. On Monday, he plays the Darius and Friends benefit concert. His fan club party is next Friday and he plays the sold-out shows at LP Field next Saturday.

Half pipe dreams really do come true for Kip Moore. The “I’m to Blame” singer hit Nashville Wednesday to launch the new Comeback Kid Skatepark Project as part of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Kip’s Kids Fund.  Phase one of the initiative will bring skateparks to inner city neighborhoods in Boston, San Marcos, Texas and Annapolis. Nashville’s skatepark is expected to open in August in the Jefferson Street neighborhood.  Kip Moore says he hopes kids feel a sense of belonging trying alternative sports.  “It brings a sense of peace for me in the ways I can’t explain. When I’m out in the water at six o’clock in the morning, and the sun’s coming up. Those are the times when I feel close to God and where I’m supposed to be. And like it kind of brings it all back to center for me and I need those times. And I think skating does the same thing for people.”  Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and representatives from Salemtown Board Co.  were part of Wednesday’s press conference. Kip’s new album Wild Ones lands August 21st.

Since Brad Paisley and his dad Doug are getting calls for tickets to the Stones Nashville show that Brad opens, we called Doug and he told us he was at their home in West Virginia Saturday when someone from Illinois called at midnight asking to speak to “Brad's dad.” Doug played dumb and said they had the wrong number. They replied, "we know it’s you. Is there any way we can get tickets? Of course we want to pay for them.”

Fans mean the world to Casey James, but there’s one fan he'll never forget. One of his forever fans is a blind boy named Marcus, who made a lasting impression on the “Fall Apart” singer when they first met.Casey James says meeting Marcus’ family for the first time was life-changing.  “His family said that there was something that drew him to me. I took that as a huge compliment because I would like to think that when people meet me or hear me that they would feel a spirit of kindness and giving. And he felt that.”  Casey James recalls the meet-and-greet with Marcus.

“He had heard that I had long hair so he wanted to feel my hair -- a little cute kid -- he was hugging on me and he’s just so sweet. That’s one of the memories that I cherish. There’s a lot that are really great like that -- a bunch of blessings that have come through just every day interaction with fans. But that one is always special to me.”  Casey is on tour through summer. His next show is tonight  in San Jose, California.

Someone’s phone was buzzing off the hook during Wednesday’s roundtable interview with Brad Paisley. Our guess is it had to be Brad’s. A media day was held at the last minute to discuss his opening gig for The Rolling Stones on June 17th at Nashville’s LP Field. Ever since Tuesday’s announcement, his phone has been blowing up with requests to get into the sold-out show.  Brad Paisley says the number of requests for Rolling Stones tickets is unbelievable.  “You wouldn’t believe it. Yesterday, when they made the announcement, there’s people I don’t know that called my father, that got his number and said, ‘Hi! Do you remember me? Is there any way?’ Honestly, it’s never a good indicator when they say, ‘Do you remember me? By the way, I’m calling because he’s playing with the Stones (laughs).’”  Carrie Underwood definitely has an in through Brad. When she tweeted him for tickets, he said, “Done.” But she still might have to work her way into the gig.  Brad Paisley says he has an idea that might get Carrie Underwood into The Rolling Stones show.  “Now if she wants to come sing ‘Remind Me,’ I can get her in. Not a bad idea, huh?”

Chase Bryant is a huge advocate for music in schools, especially since he had to teach himself how to play guitar. Growing up in the small town of Orange Grove, Texas, Chase says there was a lack of guitar instructors willing to teach the odd technique of playing the instrument upside down and backwards.  Chase Bryant talks about being a self-taught guitarist.  “Because of playing upside down and backwards, it’s a right-handed guitar, played left-handed. Nobody wanted to teach me. It was always like, ‘Oh my gosh, what are you doing with that guitar?’ It just kind of, you know, would listen to music on like an eight-track player or whatever it was or CD player and listened to a part, rewind it and then try to play with it. So, yeah, I was always self-taught.”

Chase will play teacher on Thursday when he hosts the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Words and Music program in Nashville. Since its inception in 1979, the initiative has connected students and educators with pro songwriters to make songwriting a part of a core curriculum.

RaeLynn’s new favorite motto in life is “short hair, don’t care!” The Texas native says her long hair on The Voice was totally fake and she may never ever get back together with her extensions.  RaeLynn admits her fake hair was a total head-scratcher anyway.  “I’m about to tell you a girl secret, I had lots of extensions. And I was just worn out with them. They made my head itch all the time. I said, ‘I’m done. I’m being natural.’ Yes, I was pattin’ my head all the time. So, I just took them all out. Bye, Felicia!”  RaeLynn’s new “For a Boy” music video is out now. She says, “I am so excited! My vision was a throwback to the Marilyn Monroe look with a modern feel.”

We know Michael Ray is all about kisses in the morning, but waking up to new tattoos in the morning -- that’s a different story. Michael’s left arm is covered in ink, and he has plans to get his right arm sleeved out, too.  Michael Ray says he’s giving his next tat some thought.  “I want to sleeve out my other arm for sure. I don’t know yet what I want. You know, they’re on you for life. So, you kind of got to really make sure what you’re wanting. I’ve got some buddies with some ‘wakeup tattoos’ where you didn’t know and you wake up and you’re like, ‘Oh crap. I got a tattoo.’ And they look just like that. I don’t have any of those luckily.”

Michael plays the Grand Ole Opry tonight , and he’ll be at the 2015 CMA Music Festival. He plays the free Bud Light Plaza Stage on June 14th.

The Timber Singers at Garner, North Carolina’s Timber Drive Elementary shared the spotlight with a real American Idol last week. Scotty McCreery was home and his former music teacher Elizabeth Palmieri  invited him to sing “I Love You This Big” with the group at Thursday night’s school concert.    For Scotty, the gig was an easy, “Yes.” He even made a surprise visit at rehearsals earlier that day (News Observer). Scotty McCreery says Mrs. Palmieri was among his first fans.  “She was my schoolteacher and my church choir director when I was growing up. So that was really cool. And then Ms. Clayton -- she was a huge influence on my life as my high school choir teacher. She was actually the person, when I won American Idol, I got to give one car away to a teacher and she was that lady. She just had such a huge impact on me.”  Scotty will be playing the free Chevrolet Riverfront Stage at Nashville’s 2015 CMA Music Festival. His set is June 11th at 3:45 p.m.

This week Jake Owen is all about celebrating the women in his life -- his wife Lacey, their daughter Pearl and his mom Mitzi. Thursday marked three years of marriage with Lacey and he’s totally ready for Mother’s Day on Sunday.  In a new Q&A, Glamour quizzed Jake on love and marriage. He said, “My mom and dad have been married for over 30 years, and my mom gave me a great piece of advice once, ‘Being married is not a 50/50 deal.’ Sometimes my dad gives 10-percent and she has to give 90-percent and vice versa. She said you’ll never be 50/50. It’s always one of the other.”  Jake Owen dotes on his wife Lacey Buchanan and their daughter Pearl.  “I see a lot of my wife in her every day I see a lot of me in her every day, the faces she makes and things. But, every night, I used to sit there and look out the front of stage and think of how pretty those girls were in the front row and now I look side stage by my monitor console and see two of the prettiest girls in the crowd.”  A new Jake album is expected in August or September. He says, “Songs are about life — living life, loving people, and just being happy.”

We want Dierks Bentley to adopt us for the Sounds of Summer tour! The backstage action sounds like a total blast with a kiddie pools and sidewalk chalk. Both are the ultimate tour must-haves when the family joins Dierks on the road.  Dierks Bentley says his family always crashes after a few songs because of all the fun had backstage.  “They’ll watch two or three or four songs and then they crash out. And just being on the road, they love that -- you know -- the bus and backstage and chalking up the cement or getting a kiddie pool out or something. They don’t come out that often -- maybe just like four times a year -- but we always make a lot of memories in those days.”  “Say You Do” is number-one this week on the Mediabase chart this week! The Sounds of Summer tour starts June 5th in Raleigh, North Carolina with Kip Moore, Maddie and Tae and Canaan Smith.

If Forrest Gump is right and you really can tell a lot by a person from their shoes, we’re going to learn a ton about the groomsmen in Brantley Gilbert’s wedding. The choice of footwear in Brantley’s party is totally up to the guys.  Brantley Gilbert opens up about planning the wedding with fiancée Amber Cochran.  “She and the wedding planner are working pretty close together. I have made some decisions. My groomsmen actually get to wear their choice of shoes. Like my little brother is wearing Air Maxes. Then I’ve got some wearing Cons -- and Chucks -- And I’m going to be in my Sunday’s Best, which y’all know what that is. If I can find a tie, we’ll strap that son of a gun on and go to work!”  The two are planning a June wedding.

Due to being in a tour bus so much of the time Miranda there’s nothing more freeing than hitching up a trailer by herself & heading off to camp.

Brett Eldredge says it was a pretty easy day at the office shooting the “Lose My Mind” music video. Brett’s nurse co-star is Victoria’s Secret model Rachel Hilbert, and he admits he was pretty excited when she signed on for the role.  Although they had mad chemistry on camera, Brett admits he fears getting tied down to someone off camera.  Brett Eldredge says he has a problem committing to lunch let alone a serious relationship.  “I am scared of getting tied down right now because I’m so driven for what I’m doing. And I just love my music so much. And that is my love. I have trouble committing to what time I’m going to have lunch tomorrow. There’s so many things on my mind that I want to do. You know, I’ve dated and stuff. I haven’t been tied down for a little while because I’m just waiting to be surprised.”  Brett does get crushes. In a new Q&A with the Tennessean, he admitted, “I could be sitting here doing this interview right now thinking about that girl because I can't stop.”

Who falls asleep on a date with Kip Moore? Believe it! It happened. The date-gone-wrong happened with one of his crushes in college. Kip tells People, “I kind of always wanted to go out with her, and I finally got her to go out with me. She fell asleep on the ride home and a little bit of drool was coming out of her mouth with her head up against the window.”

Kip doesn’t blame his date for dozing off.  “I couldn’t help but laugh at myself, ‘I’m such a loser -- she is falling asleep on the ride home.’ That is probably my biggest buster moment.”

Kip’s new single, “I’m to Blame,” is available now. He hits the Stagecoach music festival this weekend in Indio, California.

For those heading to Stagecoach this weekend in Indio, California, Tyler Farr salutes you. He’ll be rocking out in spirit as he’s trekking across the Pacific Northwest this weekend on tour with Jason Aldean. Last year, Tyler borrowed a bike from Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line to tailgate with fans camping out for three-day event.  Tyler Farr jokes it’s fun to mess with fans at festivals. OC:…with them.”  “I’ll just take off into the campground and go out and mess with them, and be like, ‘Who are you here to see?’ ‘Tyler Farr!’ I’m like, ‘Oh really? That’s cool.’ They have no idea. So, it’s pretty funny. I like to mess with them.”

Tyler is booked for the iHeartRadio Country Festival on May 2nd in Austin, Texas. The lineup includes Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts and Little Big Town. His album Suffer in Peace lands Tuesday.

A rear tire blew hitting a gas line making the back of the bus catch on fire. Hillary said everything in back was burned except for her Bible. Thankfully no one was hurt.

To enjoy music without judgment, Gary Allan goes old school and busts out his small collection of vinyl. The “Hangover Tonight” singer just started collecting, and he can’t wait to add more on Record Store Day this Saturday.  Gary Allan talks about his starter collection of vinyl.  “I just recently bought a turntable and I’ve been into albums so Crazy Horse is in full rotation this week and the Bob Dylan Basement Tapes. And I had a bunch of albums at my store so I went to my store first and took home those and started there. So I’m just now getting into it.”  Frankie Ballard also misses the look of classic country album covers.  “Those old country albums where it would be like the person’s whole body or like their torso but then it was just all red and then it had the thing. It would be kind of cool to throw that back and do a cover like that. I always like those. It looked like music if music had a look to it, you know?”  Country acts coming out with exclusive Record Store Day releases include Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and the late Johnny Cash.      Jason Aldean was hit on the side of the head with a cup of beer last week during a show in Wichita, KS. He was singing with a hologram of Kelly Clarkson and when he got hit he stopped singing but her hologram continued on. He pointed at the guy, shook his head ‘no’ then started motioning to security who escorted him out. Jason declined to press charges but I hear it took him a while to recover and he later said to the crowd, “it took everything I had not to kick that guy's teeth in.”

Tyler Farr is hoping to nab a few of his own on a turkey hunt this week.  Tyler Farr says he didn’t have any luck on his last turkey hunt.   “It’s turkey season, I just started that hobby back up again. My buddy Randy Montana actually shot a turkey right after I left so I was bummed out about that because I can only hunt an hour. And they ain’t goin’ anywhere though. I had them in single file line behind my house about 24 of them yesterday.”  Tyler’s new album Suffer in Peace lands April 28th.

We’re pretty confident Kellie Pickler will give us some good clean fun on her new CMT reality series. But she still fears she’ll say stuff she might regret later. She tells Rolling Stone, “I think people know that pretty much what you see is what you get with me. I’m sure I’ll say things I’ll regret, but that’s part of life. That’s part of growin’ up.”  One show Kellie will never turn down is the one that pulled her from obscurity in North Carolina.  Kellie Pickler says she’d appear on American Idol again in a heartbeat.  “Well, if they were to ever ask me to come back, I will always go back to American Idol. That will always be my first home. And I’m so grateful and so thankful and blessed that they believed in me enough to give me a shot. So, I would never turn down the opportunity to go back.”  Kellie’s new reality series with her hubby Kyle Jacobs has the working title I Love Kellie Pickler.

Can you imagine going 14 years without live music? Parmalee recently learned it sometimes happens to those who need it most -- service members fighting for our country overseas. The group is fresh off a military entertainment tour across Europe, Africa and Asia, and their experience blew them away.

Matt Thomas tells People, “Probably the coolest, most touching moment is when we went to play on the battleship the USS Dewey. We were on the big aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, and then we took a helicopter to the small battleship. They told us when we got on that battleship that some of these people have been active 14 years and have never had anybody come visit them. The entertainment always goes to the big ships, but nobody ever comes to the small ships.”

He adds, “We just basically sat on the back deck of the battleship and gathered around campfire-style. They cut all the lights off, turned all the generators off and about 80 soldiers and sailors got out there. They were so enthusiastic about it. It was just really cool. We're out in the Persian Gulf on a battleship and it's the middle of the night, it's so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and we're out there singing. Sitting on the back deck with those soldiers on that battleship was pretty emotional.”

Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic is going to be a wild time with performances by Eric Church, Kacey Musgraves, Merle Haggard, Jamey Johnson and more. But don’t expect Eric to be all over social media sharing pics of the covered dishes and fun backstage. The “Like a Wrecking Ball” singer is totally anti-social media.  Eric Church says he doesn’t Facebook or tweet because he believes it jeopardizes his musical merit.  “It really just takes away from me the musical part. I feel like it becomes about all the other stuff. I just don’t’ want to tweet. I don’t know how to tweet. I don’t know how to get on Facebook. I don’t know what that says about me, I just don’t know how to do those things.”  For the first time in five years, the Independence Day event will be held in Austin, Texas. Tickets go on sale April 10th.

Sara Evans will not be catching The Last Man on Earth on Fox this week. The matriarch of a combined family of seven children watched an episode last week with her teen kids and was so appalled, she ranted on Facebook about how much the show offended her.  She wrote, “In the first few scenes it shows him watching porn and saying a prayer to God and making a gross statement about doing something that should NOT be talked about on a major network. FOX. How are we supposed to teach our young boys and girls how to be respectable men and women when shows like that are right there readily available for them to watch?”  Sara Evans talks about the importance of family activities.  “It is so important to me for us to be together as a family. When we are together, we are together because you know our kids are becoming teenagers and you know, it’s just going to just fly by.”

Sara will be at the Stagecoach Music Festival on April 26th.

From their first date at the Chicago Zoo, Jana Kramer was totally ape over her fiancé and football-playing man, Mike Caussin. A den of monkeys even caught their first kiss!  Jana Kramer recalls their first date at the Chicago Zoo where Jana was booked for a show.  “And I thought, what better like first date would that be than to like go to the zoo and hang out in the park, so I was like, do you want to come to Chicago tomorrow? And he was like, ‘Yeah!’ And so at like 9:00 at night he booked his flight, came to Chicago and I like fell in love with him. And our first kiss was by the monkeys (laughs). Yeah!”  For those who judge Jana base on her previous relationships, y’all can mind your own business. The “I Got the Boy” singer is happy and in love.  Jana Kramer opens up about her previous relationships.

“People can look at my past and it’s not the prettiest with people I’ve been with. First of all, I love to love and I’m a believer in just putting your heart out there and when I finally worked on myself and I was ok being single and working on me, getting myself healthy, I met the most healthy guy ever. So, it was cool.”

Jana co-wrote half the songs on her upcoming sophomore album, which is due out this spring.

Honey badger Tyler Farr don’t care. Honey badger takes what it wants and Tyler wanted “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” bad. The competition was fierce for Tyler’s latest hit between the Missouri native and Blake Shelton. Both had the song on hold for respective albums and the battle for the track sounds worthy of its own National Geographic special.  Tyler Farr says the competition for “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” was like a battle between a polar bear and a honey badger.  “Not literally, fought over the song ’cause he would probably kill me; he’s much larger. He’s more like a polar bear, and I’m like a honey badger.”  Tyler won in the end because he had the song on hold first for his upcoming sophomore album Suffer In Peace. Tyler Farr says Blake Shelton gave him crap for getting “A Guy Walks Into a Bar.”  “Do not think for a second that he did not give me a pile of crap about that the first time he saw me and the actual first time we got to hang out, which was in Miranda [Lambert]’s Airstream trailer backstage on the Burn It Down tour. And he’s like, ‘All right, you song-stealer, let’s hear it.’ And I played it for him, and he sang every word to it, and he said, ‘Couldn’t have done it better myself.’ He said, ‘That was meant for you.’”  Suffer In Peace is available for pre-order on Amazon. The collection lands April 28th.

Scotty McCreery is howling victory over N.C. State University making it to the Sweet 16 of the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Scotty went wild on Twitter when his Wolf Pack beat the number-one seed Villanova Wildcats 71-to-68 on Saturday (NCAA).  Scotty McCreery says school friends at NC State keep him humble. “So being at State, they treat me like a friend. I’ve made friends since I’ve been there and I’m still hanging out with the friends I’ve had before. The guys obviously give me a hard time -- the guys I live with, I call them the biggest haters. I mean anytime they hear something about me or see something about me, they’ll be knocking me down real quick. It’s cool to have that. It keeps you humble.”  N.C. State plays again on Friday -- the same day Scotty has a show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Nothing says, “I love you,” more than Harry Potter -- at least that’s how it goes with the Brad Paisley family. Brad and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley renewed their vows for their 12th wedding anniversary and what capped the night may surprise some.  Kimberly tells People, “We’re parents now. So, the night ended with a nice bedtime story [with Huck and Jasper].”  She adds, “We love hanging out with them. My oldest son has just started reading like crazy. He loves comic books. He loves Calvin and Hobbes. He’s halfway through the Harry Potter series. They both have hilarious and unique personalities.”  Brad and Kimberly tied the knot on March 15th, 2003. The Crushin’ It world tour kicks off May 15th in Camden, New Jersey.

Did you catch the season finale of Empire? The Fox drama just happens to be one of Keith Urban’s favorite new shows. Keith tunes in to support the series co-creator and Precious director Lee Daniels, who directed Keith’s wife Nicole Kidman in the 2012 thriller The Paperboy with Zac Efron and Matthew McConaughey.  Keith Urban says it’s hard to leave the TV when Empire is on.  “I have watched it a little bit. It’s addictive! My wife and Lee Daniels are good friends, too. We’re really, really happy for Lee, as well, and very happy for Fox and happy for everybody on Empire, and happy that we’re part of that, too, because I think Idol and Empire together is a good combo.”

Luke Bryan’s final Spring Break in Panama City, Florida was one for the record books! Spinnaker Beach Club hosted more than 400,000 partiers for the free, two-day concert event. Also in tow were Luke’s wife Caroline, his recently adopted nephew Til and Luke’s mom LeClaire.  Here’s more (CMT):

  • Fans arrived from all over the country and started lining up to get in as early as 1 a.m. the morning of Wednesday’s first show.
  • Luke hit the stage every set rocking his official Spring Break uniform -- a t-shirt, board shorts, flip flops and shades.
  • Besides Luke’s biggest hits, the two-hour set list included covers “Dixieland Delight,” “Young, Wild and Free,” “Mountain Music,” “Uptown Funk,” “Fishin’ in the Dark” and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song.
  • With beer coolers strategically placed across the stages, Luke kept fans imbibed as he walked by. He even filled a beer funnel for a group of fans close to the stage.
  • Luke broke out the national anthem and saluted the American flag the flies over Spinnaker Beach Club.
  • Luke’s wife Caroline and his mom LeClaire helped shut down the event by showing off their dance moves onstage on the closer “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).”

Luke Bryan admits he never dreamed his Spring Break shows would be as big as they are now.   “It became a million times more successful and bigger than the initial startup thought about it was and that’s been awesome. And it’s kind of fun to leave this little nugget of my career. We still love having a good time.”

We still can’t get over the hotness that is Miranda Lambert’s new music video “Little Red Wagon.” And guess what! She didn’t kill herself on a diet to get her smokin’ bod.  She tells Elle, “I don’t think diets work. I think it’s a choice you make every single day.”  ‘Ran is definitely not one to question her self-worth over some country cookin’ at Nashville’s Loveless Cafe. She says, “I had never been there and I basically caused a scene with my biscuit eating. I got back out on the road, where I’m traveling with my trainer, and I was sitting with him at lunch and was like, ‘I need to confess something to you.’ He was like, ‘It’s OK, but we’re going to run today.’”  Miranda Lambert says it’s all about feeling comfortable in your own skin no matter the size.  “To go out and be in public and be on a red carpet and be in a performance situation and not feel good about yourself is an awful feeling. It’s important. You’ve got to feel your best when you go out there because you can sound as good as you can sound, but it’s all over your face and your body language if you don’t feel comfortable in your skin.”

It’s been a wild few weeks for new mom Carrie Underwood. Since the February 27th birthday of her first son Isaiah, she’s launched her lifestyle and fitness line, Calia, with Dick’s Sporting Goods, and hubby Mike Fisher has been killing it on the ice with the Nashville Predators. He recently scored two goals in three games!

Mike is also mastering diaper duty at home. He tells the Tennessean, “I'm not bad. I'm working away at it. I'm not the best yet, but we'll get there.”  “My husband has two brothers and a sister so he’s versed in being around both kinds of kids and it will be good. I do look around my house and think of all the things they could break and when I do say, ‘They,’ I mean Mike and baby Fisher.”  Carrie turns 32 on Tuesday! Happy early birthday, Carrie!

Lee Ann Womack could write a hilarious travel book with all the original material her parents are dishing on tour in the U.K. Lee Ann brought her Texas parents across the pond for the trek and their Southern sayin’s are hysterical.  Lee Ann tweeted Thursday, “Pa to Uber driver: this is my first time riding on the left. Go easy on me.”  On Wednesday, she posted, “Gertie: ‘You people should watch The King's Speech. Then you'll know what's going on around here.” And “Seeing London Bridge. Quote from Pa ‘Now, is that the one that's falling down?’”  Making her Grammy-nominated album The Way I’m Livin’ was also a family affair. Lee Ann tracked the 13-song collection with her award-winning producer/husband Frank Liddell.    “It was the first time we had done a whole record together. I went into it knowing and thinking and telling myself, you’re the artist, he’s the producer, we’ve got to keep our jobs separate. And he had said, ‘Don’t worry about anything at all except making music that you’re both really proud of.”  Lee Ann performs in London tomorrow (Saturday) as part of the Country to Country concert series. Her first shows back in the U.S.A. begin April 18th in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Happy pinning, Carrie Underwood! The mommy-to-be just launched an official Pinterest page with six boards dedicated to all her favorite things, including healthy living, feeling pretty and fitness.  Pinterest should come in handy when baby boy Fisher makes his world debut. The site offers a ton of pinspiration on kids, parenting and decorating for the nursery.  “I’m so much better when someone says, ‘Here’s 10 things and pick a favorite.’ You know what I mean? Rather than there’s a whole world of rugs and drapes and furniture and stuff out there and I don’t even know where to start. So, there’s someone else that’s helping with that.”

Carrie’s new lifestyle and fitness apparel line Calia hits Dick’s Sporting Goods on Thursday.

When Kacey Musgraves made her Country Radio Seminar debut in 2012, her knockout performance of “Merry Go ‘Round” received the only standing ovation at her label’s annual showcase. Since then, Kacey has won two Grammy Awards, two CMA Awards and an ACM Award for Album of the Year.
Thursday’s premiere performance of her new single “Biscuits” at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium was a show-stopper and she rocked an outfit to match.

Going barefoot with big Texas hair, Kacey made a statement in a black and white, ruffled gingham dress that was a cross between a prom dress and your grandmother’s favorite kitchen apron.

This is why we love Garth Brooks. The man loves his people so much, he’ll splurge on the cost to rent out an entire mall to treat his band and crew to a night at the movies.  Garth Brooks talks about renting out a mall for an American Sniper viewing.  “We went to a movie the other night in Pittsburgh. The whole band and crew went to see American Sniper. Fabulous movie, but we do everything together. They were cool enough to stay open after the show and they were very sweet.”  Garth threw a secret show at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works last night. The rare gig was his first club show since 1993.  Garth's tour with Trisha Yearwood is heading to Portland, Oregon. Their two-night stand starts April 12th at the Moda Center. Tickets go on sale March 6th.

If you tried to call Jake Owen right now, chances are you’ll get this message, “The voice mailbox is full and no longer accept any messages at this time.” The “What We Ain’t Got” singer admits he has terrible phone etiquette.  In a new “25 Things” list with Us Weekly, Jake reveals, “I hate emails and texts and I’m horrible about calling people back.”  Outside of friends and family, one call Jake will always take Kenny Chesney’s. The Lucky Old Son has been one of Jake’s biggest supporters since he broke with “Yee Haw.”  “If I could be like anyone and model my career after a guy that not only is so passionate about the music he makes, but he’s passionate about the people he works with. He’s appreciative of the people that work for him, you can see that when you’re around him and his crew. People will lay down for that guy.”  Jake, Chase Rice and Cole Swindell will join Kenny’s The Big Revival tour for select dates this summer. The trek kicks off with a two-night stand in Nashville on March 26th.

House of Cards spoiler alert -- when season three premieres on Netflix on February 27th, Frank Underwood takes the oval office as the 46th president of the United States. Shocker, right?  If Kevin Spacey is looking for plot twist suggestions, here is ours: write a part for Darius Rucker! He’s played for five living presidents.  Darius Rucker says playing for five living presidents is his proudest moment.  “To be honest with you, the thing I’m most proud of in my career is that I’ve gotten to sing for all five living presidents. Two Bushes, Clinton, I got to sing for President Obama and Ford.”  We doubt Darius would have time for a Netflix role at the moment. His new album Southern Style lands March 31st and the tour of the same name kicks off May 14th in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Valentine’s Day is all about the wives for Eli Young Band! Their latest single, “Prayer for the Road,” is inspired by the sweet messages their wives slip into their luggage before the guys leave for tour.  Mike Eli talks about the inspiration behind “Prayer for the Road.”  “James [Young] and I were talking at a writing retreat. We had this idea, James and I were talking about how our wives leave these notes in our bags, you know, these really nice notes about missing us and to be careful out there kind of thing. That’s kind of where this song started.”  EYB just released a fun bonus video for “Prayer for the Road.” It’s available online now!

Miranda Lambert's labor of love, her album Platinum, won the award for Best Country Album at Sunday's Grammys.  Backstage at the Grammy Awards, Miranda Lambert talks about winning Best Country Album for Platinum .  “I felt like this album, Platinum was the one that was going to set up the next decade of my career—sort of launch me into the next phase. So I spent extra time and extra effort and took so much care in picking the right songs and writing the right songs. I really wanted it to celebrate where I’ve been and where I’m going and I feel like it does that.”  Carrie Underwood won her seventh career Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance for "Something in the Water." A very pregnant Carrie watched from home as her name was called during the pre-telecast. She tweeted, "I'm seriously so happy that 'Something in the Water' won a Grammy! This song means so much to me...I feel so honored and blessed!"  The Band Perry picked up their first ever Grammy in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Gentle On My Mind" from the soundtrack of the Glen Campbell documentary I'll Be Me.

And, Glen Campbell, who wrote "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" along with Julian Raymond, won Best Country Song.

Chris Young’s job just got crazy pretty! The “Lonely Eyes” singer is looking forward to a super fun workweek when Sports Illustrated celebrates the 2015 Swimsuit Issue at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Chris will sing at next week’s event, which will include performances by Will Hoge, Nikki Lane, Rayland Baxter and headliner Kings of Leon.  Chris says, “I'm a sports fan. I'm a Sports Illustrated fan. I'm a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue fan, too. Let's just say it is going to be a blast playing Nashville next week.”  Chris Young says he loves all aspects of being a country star.  “I love my job. I love all aspects of it. So it really doesn’t feel like work to go, ‘Ok I don’t want to think about this stuff. I’m going to write a song.’ That aspect of being a songwriter really kind of helps me relieve stress. You start with a blank piece of paper and you get to create whatever you want.”  Chris Young’s set will be staged in the temporary Swimville entertainment village on Nashville’s Lower Broadway on Wednesday.

Remember in 1997’s As Good As It Gets when Jack Nicholson is asked, “How do you write women so well?” Kenny Chesney has an answer! And it’s not even close to Jack’s reply, “I think of a man and I take away reason and accountability.” Instead, Kenny starts with a woman’s heart.  Kenny Chesney explains there’s more than one way to write about a woman.  “I believe there’s a lot of ways to write about women. But to me, I think their spirit — their heart and their spirit is the place to start. You know, a lot of things that have been written about women in the last three years (laughs) are just about certain things. And look, I love tailgates and cutoff jeans and bikini tops as much as any guy in the world. But I feel like that’s been talked about a lot. It’s kinda, in a way, kinda painted women in a corner.”

Kenny Chesney talks about his new single “Wild Child.”  “But this song talks about their spirit. This song talks about their heart, and how they live their life, you know, just out of the box.”  Kenny’s “American Kids” is up for Best Country Song at the 57th annual Grammy Awards. The show airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Who knew Eric Church was a closet Fiona Apple fan? The “Talladega” singer says Fiona was in heavy rotation while he was recording his Grammy-nominated album The Outsiders -- and her rock piano directly inspired a musical moment on the track “Broke Record.”  Eric Church says he wanted Fiona Apple piano on “Broke Record.”  “It’s one of the few times we used piano, the low end of the piano. I was actually listening to some Fiona Apple doing this album. She did this really cool thing at the low end of the piano where you really can’t discern what the notes are. You just hear this rhythmic rumble. And we did some of that on ‘Broke Record.’”  Eric scored his fourth number-one this week with “Talladega,” following “Drink in My Hand,” “Springsteen” and “Give Me Back My Hometown.” He also shares a number-one with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan on "The Only Way I Know.  On the Mediabase chart, Carrie Underwood’s Grammy-nominated hit “Something in the Water” follows at number-two, while Luke Bryan’s “I See You” holds at number-three. Florida Georgia Line’s “Sun Daze” and Kenny Chesney’s “Til It’s Gone” round out the Top 5.

Justin Moore owes a lot to his parents. Without their love and support, me might have never pursued music as a career.  Justin Moore says his parents were his first fans.  “I started playin’ music my junior or senior year a high school. My dad is the one who actually said, ‘So, what do you think about doin’ that for a livin’?’ And so, my parents were very supportive as opposed to the opposite where some parents when you go home from college and go, I’m not goin’ back to college, I’m gonna go try to be a Country Music star, where they would go, what the hell’s wrong with you? They were very supportive of me and obviously still are.”  Justin’s next show is February 6th in West Wendover, Nevada. He continues Miranda Lambert’s Certified Platinum tour in Spokane, Washington on February 12th.

Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr’s engagement party was so exclusive, you had to get fingerprinted to even get through the door! Brittany’s mom and grandmother were also at Citizen, which was decked out with a commemorative photo booth and a six-tiered, white-frosted cake as the centerpiece.  Jason Aldean says his wedding to Brittany Kerr will be big

"It's all good. We're excited, we're really happy. And it's obviously going to be her first wedding so she wants the whole...shebang."

With no concerts on the books until the end of March, Jake Owen is breaking the Internet with cuteness! On Tuesday, he tweeted the most adorable picture of his baby girl Pearl on her first pony ride. I just found out over his holiday break Jake Owen caused quite a stir by making an unannounced appearance onstage at the Riverside Café in his hometown of Vero Beach, FL. After he played, he had a 2-hour dinner of blackened mahi mahi, french fries and coleslaw. His tab was $240 and he left a $140 tip! His server said Jake was “really normal and really nice.”

Miranda Lambert announced a free concert the other night on Facebook about 6 hours before it happened. It was at Nashville’s Exit/In, only a few hundred could fit and it was the kick off to her Certified Platinum Tour. She had new artist RaeLynn there as well; she was coached by Blake on The Voice and says she’s sorta been adopted by the Shelton’s.

Speaking of Miranda, as for her dramatic 45-pound weight loss last year, she says exercise and never skipping breakfast were key. She also juices daily and run-walks on her 700-acre ranch.

Miranda Lambert loves all her songs as if they were her own kids! It’s hard picking favorites, but ‘Ran has hers narrowed to two. She tells Gibson.com, “’Dead Flowers’ is a definite favorite. ‘Love Is Looking for You’ is another one. Neither was a huge hit, but from a songwriting perspective, I’m proud of both of those. ‘Love Looking for You’ was one of the early ones. It took me a while to understand what I was saying with that song... A song you wrote when you were young can surprise you when you’re older.”  Miranda Lambert says Blake Shelton and her mom Beverly keep her grounded.  “When we go home, we’re just normal, and we appreciate everyday things as well as getting to be on a red carpet together and have success together. My mom would kill me if I got diva on her.  The Certified Platinum tour kicks off Thursday in Evansville, Indiana with Justin Moore and RaeLynn.

He’ll have what she’s having! It’s no secret Blake Shelton loves his adult beverages, especially when wife Miranda Lambert gets behind the bar. The “Lonely Tonight” singer admits he’s a huge fan of her signature cocktail -- the Randarita.

“I tell you what Miranda does with my drinks every now and then I like is she puts in a little Crystal Light in -- that raspberry lemonade Crystal Light -- puts a little bit that in there, just a little bit. Man, it’s good stuff. It’ll ruin your life. Don’t try it.”

Blake heads to Wednesday’s People’s Choice Awards with two nods, for Favorite Male Country Artist and all-genre Favorite Male. The show starts at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
