The father of Mindy McCready's son Zander believes that she might have killed her two children had they not been in foster care at the time of her suicide. Billy McKnight tells the National Enquirer, “She killed the dog before she killed herself, and I fear she would have taken those kids with her too, if they’d been there.”

Mindy's former personal assistant Steve Darling has his own theory about her death. “Mindy was afraid that the cops were going to determine that she had something to do with David’s death. I believe that’s the reason she killed herself.”

Mindy shot herself on the porch of her Arkansas home where, just weeks before, her boyfriend David Wilson had been found shot. Police are investigating whether Wilson's death was murder or suicide.

Could there soon be bundle of joy arriving at the Rimes-Cibrian home? Rumors are flying that LeAnn might be pregnant. According to reports she's been spotted wearing baggy clothes and looking a little fuller around the middle. The couple just bought a gigantic love nest, so it wouldn't be surprising if they were ready to feather it with a little one.

Jake Owen's father Steve starts radiation for throat cancer today at the Mayo Clinic. To keep his spirits high, Jake got him a little dog that doesn't shed to keep him company.

The West Virginia woman has built a reputation as the talented singing checker, with several videos of her a capella performances featured on youtube. Yesterday (Tuesday, February 19th), Kayla made an appearance on Anderson Cooper's show, Anderson Live, where Dierks surprised her with a phone call and an invitation to attend the upcoming ACM Awards in Las Vegas in April.

Dierks told her, "I'm a huge fan. Like so many people, I saw the video, and, gosh, I just love your singing, your voice, it's such a great traditional country voice. It was really refreshing and I wanted to just call and tell you that I'm a fan and enjoyed your story."

Kayla and a guest will not only attend the Awards, but the pre-parties, after-parties and various other events surrounding the big night.

Troubled country singer Mindy McCready has died, apparently by her own hand. According to the Cleburne County Sheriff's department, McCready's body was found Sunday in Heber Springs, Arkansas.  The 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene from what appeared to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.

About a month ago, McCready's boyfriend, 34-year-old David Wilson, died, reportedly of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, though his death is still under investigation.  McCready denied any involvement in Wilson's death.  Not long afterwards, her two sons, Zander and Zayne, were taken into care by authorities, and E! Online reports that she was ordered to enter a facility for a mental health and alcohol abuse evaluation.

E! reports that according to court documents, a judge wrote that there was cause to believe the singer was suicidal; however, a few days later, she received the OK to undergo outpatient treatment instead.

Wilson was the father of McCready's younger son, Zayne.  In November of 2011, McCready violated a court order when she didn't bring her older son, Zander, whose father is McCready's ex, Billy McKnight, back home to Florida after a visit.  Zander was then placed in foster care while the custody dispute was worked out.  It was just the latest in a long line of personal and legal troubles that McCready had faced in the past decade.

McCready had reportedly attempted suicide in the past, most recently in 2008, the same year it was revealed that she'd had a decade-long relationship with baseball star Roger Clemons, who was married to another woman at the time.

McCready first rose to fame in 1996 with her debut album Ten Thousand Angels, which produced the #1 hit "Guys Do It All the Time."  She released five albums in all, and scored six top 40 country hits, including "Ten Thousand Angels" and "A Girl's Gotta Do (What a Girl's Gotta Do)."  Her most recent album, I'm Still Here, came out in 2010.

Country stars began tweeting in remembrance of McCready Sunday night:

Carrie Underwood: "I grew up listening to Mindy sad for her family tonight. Many prayers are going out to them..."

Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott: "My heart is breaking hearing of the loss of Mindy McCready. Pray for her 2 precious little boys...may God's peace & protection be on them!"

Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines: "Too much tragedy to overcome. R.I.P Mindy McCready."

Jerrod Niemann: "Hate hearing about anyone committing suicide. May Mindy McCready rest in peace... "

Wynonna: "Oh my! Mindy. Dear sweet girl. This is so sad. It just breaks my heart what addiction continues to take from this life. Addiction is a dis EASE & not a character flaw. When the pain becomes too much, it causes people to want that pain to stop. This is just so Unbelievable & so sad. God be with the family & those babies. Surround them with your grace & mercy. Sleep in Heavenly peace Mindy."

LeAnn Rimes is suing her dentist stating she has a quote, "permanent cosmetic deficiency” due to him. The dentist did 9 root canals, bone grafting, crowns and veneers to try and alleviate her dental pain and to improve her appearance. LeAnn claims she's been unable to perform as a result, so she's seeking money from past and future earnings.

Lady Antebellum will have their inaugural ‘Ping Pong & Songs’ fundraising event in Nashville March 23. It will include a celebrity ping pong tournament and all proceeds will go to charity.

A deluxe 21-track double-gatefold vinyl version hits on April 20 in conjunction with National Record Store Day. In addition to the four extra tracks, the Record Store Day release features "a special whiskey infused 7-inch." The LP, recorded at the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, Tennessee, features a host of Church favorites including "Springsteen," "Smoke a Little Smoke," "How 'Bout You," "I'm Getting' Stoned," "Country Music Jesus" and "Homeboy."

Church was nominated for two Grammy awards on Sunday (February 10)-Best Country Solo Performance ("Springsteen") and Best Country Song ("Springsteen")-but failed to bring home the goods with either nod.

Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles, her husband and new baby have just moved from Atlanta to a farm in Nashville because Jennifer says she loves Nashville’s charm.

Martina and a ton of other country stars picked their favorite Superbowl commercial– the Ram Truck one about a farmer with Paul Harvey narrating. Martina tweeted, “the best hands down. Now I wanna go buy a Dodge Ram!” The one that got everyone crying was the Budweiser commercial with the baby Clydesdale. Hilary Scott tweeted, “it got me all choked up but it might be a combo of that and pregnancy hormones.”
Speaking of Hillary, she’s been named as the mentor of Adam Levine’s team on ‘The Voice.’ The show premieres March 25.
